Places Along The Way
These aren't postcard landscapes. They're the places that stayed with me -- Tuscany, Bahamas, Killarney -- seen again through paint and memory.
I work them in cold wax and oil on wood with embedded collage underneath; hidden layers of paper and texture that reveal themselves as the surface builds up. Some have horizontal energy -- ground, water, sky stacked like the real view. Others radiate from a center point, no single top, almost abstract until you step back and sense the geography.
The colors are emotional as much as they are real. Heat and stone. Deep water. The quality of light at a specific hour on a specific day.
These are memory paintings. The places existed. What you see is what I carried back.
